Ram Janmabhoomi Trust to felicitate 400 workers who built Ram Mandir

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust is set to honor the unsung heroes behind one of modern India’s most significant cultural and architectural achievements: the construction of the grand Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

In a heartwarming gesture of gratitude, the Trust will felicitate approximately 400 skilled laborers who played a pivotal role in building the temple. The special ceremony is scheduled for March 19, 2026, coinciding with Chaitra Shukla Pratipada (Nav Samvatsar or the Hindu New Year in many traditions).

A high-profile delegation from the Trust—including General Secretary Champat Rai, Treasurer Govindev Giri, trustee Krishna Mohan, and Construction Committee Chairman Nripendra Mishra—personally extended a formal invitation to President Droupadi Murmu in New Delhi on January 21, 2026. President Murmu has been invited to grace the occasion as the chief guest, where she is expected to personally honor the workers, address the gathering, and possibly offer prayers at the temple.

While an average of over 4,000 laborers were engaged during peak construction phases, the Trust has selected around 400 for this recognition, spotlighting those who demonstrated exceptional dedication, craftsmanship, and contribution to realizing the centuries-old dream of a magnificent Ram Temple at Lord Ram’s birthplace.

This event underscores the human effort that transformed a long-cherished aspiration into reality following the Supreme Court’s 2019 verdict and the historic Pran Pratishtha ceremony in January 2024. The workers—masons, carvers, sculptors, and other artisans—brought traditional temple-building expertise together with modern engineering to create a structure that blends ancient devotion with contemporary grandeur.

The felicitation comes at a time when Ayodhya continues its remarkable transformation into a global pilgrimage and tourism hub, with surging visitor numbers, booming local economy, and ongoing infrastructure developments. Recognizing the laborers not only celebrates their hard work but also reinforces values of collective effort, national unity, and respect for those who toil behind the scenes of historic projects.

As preparations unfold for this meaningful ceremony, the initiative highlights a beautiful blend of faith, gratitude, and inclusivity—ensuring that the story of the Ram Mandir remains one of shared pride and appreciation for every hand that helped build it.
